Ishigaki-yaki・Pinatubo tenmoku tea bowl was donated to the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines

The Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines, which is said to be the largest eruption of the 20th century, caused many casualties.
We took on the challenge of making glazes to see if this volcanic ash could be effectively used not only as a construction material but also in pottery graze for the people of the Philippines. With the permission of the Philippine Government, we were able to bring back the 5 kg of volcanic ash. While there was no room for failure, I succeeded in making Tenmoku tea bowl with Pinatubo ash. I hope this tea bow comfort people who lost family and friends. It also becomes repose of souls.
