I have been started at the sea of Okinawa since the Ishigaki-yaki Pottery Studio was founded.

With the times, the scenery of Ishigaki Island has changed little by little.
The environment of the sea has been changing at the same time. However, I will never change my mind that love Okinawan sea forever.
As an artist, I want to express beauty and vitality of Okinawan sea throughout my art work and also tell people that we need to respect the ocean.

Materials such as clay and the glaze, use for making pottery are from the earth. We, pottery artist can take the benefit of them and runs pottery art activity every day. We won't be able to keep our art activity without them.

I have to respect nature then retain the preciousness and beauty to our future generation, I think it's my duty as a pottery artist.

As a pioneer of the ecological art, I believe art activity will lead to maintenance of the earth environment, and it will be able to repay great thanks for the mother earth.
